In the first part of this article, Walter Harding describes how he had a sudden "compulsion to read Thoreau". He put in a lot of time and effort in his studies of Thoreau and building this collection of documents about Thoreau. He later goes on to explain how he is giving his Thoreau collection to the Thoreau Society's headquarters and he wishes luck to anyone who wish to study it.
