Thoreau on the Lecture Platform
Walter Harding tries to analyze whether or not Thoreau was a good lecturer, and comes to the conclusion that Thoreau gave two specific types of different essays, that almost always elicited either a specifically positive or specifically negative response. The rest is full of examples.
